Abstract

Identification of priority areas for the development of human resources in the tourism sector of Chernihiv region in or-der to effectively use the limited financial resources of local budgets.The works of domestic scientists are devoted to the problems of providing the tourism industry with qualified special-ists, finding ways to improve the quality of staffing.However, each region has its own specific problems to address. That’s why we consider this study appropriate and relevant.The research objective is SWOT-analysis of staffing of the tourism sector of Chernihiv region, substantiation of strate-gic directions of human resources development, which would contribute to the effective development of tourism in the region; assessment of funding forstaffing from local budgets.SWOT analysis of staffing of the tourism sector of Chernihiv region revealed many strengths and weaknesses. Compar-ing them with opportunities and threats revealed possible strategic directions for further development of staffing of the tour-ism sector in the region. Comparison of planned and actual volumes and directions of financing staffing of the tourism sectormade it possible to determine their sufficiency and expediency.What need financial support is: involvement of senior students of educational programs "Tourism", "Geography of Tourism", "Secondary Education (English, History)" universities of Chernihiv region as specialists in tourism; accompani-ment and support of projects and startups; invitations to coaches with a significant grant history; material stimulation of work of young specialists of administrative activity in the sphere of tourism, consideration of the question of providing them with official housing; popularization of learning foreign languages with their native speakers.
