Abstract

The presented research activities deals with the idea of electromagnetically actuated switching devices switching- on process improvement by means of an electronic controller application. Based on the analysis of the results of the electromagnetic contactors dynamic at switching- on selection, the most efficient condition was determined. Making process improvement methods based on the principle of controlling the supply voltage phase were presented in this article: selected dynamic parameters at switching- on optimization in view of its parameters values minimization and intelligent compensation of the movable armature inertia using predictive control of the driving coil supply voltage. Experimental verification of the developed controller confirmed its applicability for various contactor types. Tested objects increased its ability for “near to zero,” switching- on operation realization and selected parameters optimization without the necessity of device construction modification.
