Abstract

High step up dcdc converters with lower device voltage stress and lower component count are required for renewable applications. Here, a higher gain dcdc converter based on the switched LC concept is proposed. This converter has better gain, less conduction losses in the MOSFET, reduced voltage stress, lesser components count and better efficiency as compared to the other high gain topologies. Also, the input voltage source is directly connected to the load side through a diode which specifically helps in decreasing the device voltage stress and reduces conduction losses present in the diode. Also, the lower inductor current ripple of switched-LC converter makes it feasible for renewable applications. The working of the converter is analysed in continuous current mode. Simulation of switched-LC based converter is done in MATLAB/SIMULINK R2017a. From the simulation results and analysis it is observed that the converter has an efficiency of 89 % and voltage gain is about 3.18.
