Abstract

An SRM model based on Froelich's equation has been used to accurately predict the characteristics of flux-linkage against current for various angles. The mathematical model coefficients are computed using the flux-linkage versus current at various angles data for various air gap geometric proportions. The experimental data of flux-linkage characteristics for various values of tooth width/pitch (t/τ) and pitch/gap width (τ/g) ratios are compared. The model proves to be useful for computer-aided design analysis of SRMs.
