Abstract
The loss of on-body paths for changes in body posture has been measured using a switched beam diversity disk-loaded parasitic monopole antenna array. The antenna is designed for 2.45 GHz ISM band and is fed through a coplanar waveguide (CPW) feeding system. It has a gain of 6.7 dBi and the input return loss bandwidth is about 10%. The measurements have been made for the links between the belt and chest and for the belt to the wrist. In most of the cases, better performance is achieved with this diversity antenna compared to a reference monopole.
