ABSTRACT SILAGE fermentation of swine waste combined with corn undergoes a lactic acid fermentation which quickly kills fecal coliform bacteria, Salmonella derby and dysenteric Treponema hyodysenteriae organisms. The product of this fermentation process may be used as a major component of animal rations and as an alternative method of animal waste management
