Abstract

A method is described for the separation of some neutral poisons by extraction with 1,2-dichloroethane from biological material. Contaminated extracts are cleaned by sweep co-distillation. This simple method, already known in pesticide residue analysis, is necessary to provide a suitable concentrate or residue to which instrumental identification techniques can be applied. Qualitative and quantitative aspects of this clean-up procedure are investigated.
