Abstract

We have calculated three S-wave resonances in thepositron-lithium system using the stabilization method. For thetarget lithium atom, the interaction between the core and theoutermost active electron is taken care of by a model potential.Hylleraas-type wavefunctions are used to represent thecorrelation effects between the outer electron, the positron andthe core. The resonance energies and widths for two resonances thatare believed to be associated with and below the Ps (n = 2)threshold, and one resonance below the Ps (n = 3) threshold arereported.
