Abstract

Parkinson's disease impacts the lives of thousands of people across the world. Chest infection is a significant health risk for people with Parkinson's disease and is often caused by swallowing difficulties, saliva management and weak cough. There is promising research on various treatments for swallowing and cough impairments. If swallowing and cough function can improve with rehabilitation, this will potentially improve the health and quality of life of people with Parkinson's disease worldwide.
