Abstract

Joe Dellinger, associate editor of GEOPHYSICS, and Bill Dillon have named an asteroid they discovered in 2001 for Enders Robinson and Sven Treitel, tutorial associate editors of GEOPHYSICS. In 1952, Robinson was the first person to perform signal processing on a general-purpose digital computer. Robinson and Treitel later coauthored a landmark series of papers that founded the modern field of applied geophysical signal analysis.
