Abstract

The valorization of lignocellulose into chemicals and materials remains a key issue to achieve the sustainability transition. A recent article in Joule by Adler et al. presents a simple chemo-catalytic protocol to replace the current production of cotton by converting hybrid poplar wood into cellulose-based textile fibers, biofuels, and chemicals.
