Abstract

The tunnel health state is declining with the increase of operating time under the influence of complex underground environment. In order to ensure the operation safety of tunnel, moulded concrete arch reinforcement method is applied to Chang'anba Tunnel. This paper presents an evaluation procedure for the highway tunnel health state based on fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP). Based on the comprehensive analysis of influencing factors, the hierarchical structure of the health evaluation index system was established. The new consulting process was applied to the weight calculation, and triangular fuzzy judgment matrixes were constructed. Finally, the proposed evaluation method was applied to a case study of Chang'anba Tunnel. The analysis results verify the effectiveness of the evaluation method. It is also indicated that the evaluated health levels of seven sections of the tunnel increased from Ⅲ to Ⅰ after reinforcing by moulded concrete arch, which shows the arch reinforcement can effectively improve the health level of the tunnel in the disease. The evaluation method and maintenance proposed in this study provides strong support for safety guarantee of operation tunnel.
