Abstract

The sustainability indicators of the steel industry, developed by World Steel, measure the performance of sustainability in the social, economic, and environmental fields. They provide a wide perspective on the effects of steel plants. The activity of measuring and monitoring indicators makes significant contributions to the process of implementing and increasing sustainability in the steel sector. Most steel companies voluntarily provide sustainability data, including CO2 emissions and the frequency of accidents over time. The article presents an analysis of the indicators of steel companies, based on data provided by the World Steel Association. Particular attention was paid to the pandemic period, the period that had a different influence on the indicators analyzed.
