Abstract
Sustainable energy refers to that energy that sustains our life for a longer period of time. Sustainable energy materials include solar cells, fuel cells, batteries, supercapacitors, nanocomposites, etc. which help in the reduction of carbon (Decarbonization) and improve sustainability. These materials compensate the emissions of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere thereby creating a CO2 – free global economy. The energy obtained from the sun, wind, biomass, water, etc. are responsible for the sustainable development globally. Increasing industrialization and development and global warming, together demands an urgent need for a drastic change in the energy production, storage and supply. The abstract aims that the various sustainable energy material sources like Lithium nitrides, Water responsive materials, Biotemplated materials, Phase change materials, Photovoltaic materials, Functional materials, Organic sustainable materials, etc., their structure aspects and specific applications for a flourishing, sustainable and secure energy future for the world.
