Abstract

The research was conducted in Tanah Laut Regency, South Kalimantan, in 2021. This research aims to determine the status of the sustainability of smallholder beef cattle businesses and produce strategies for moving towards a sustainable beef cattle business in Tanah Laut regency. The research was carried out by way of surveys, FGD, and filling out questionnaires on stakeholder experts. The analysis used is the Rap-Cattle analysis which is a modification of the Rap-Fish analysis. There are five dimensions used in this study, namely ecological, economic, social, technological, and institutional, with 48 attributes used. The analysis results show that the beef cattle business in Tanah Laut regency is fairly sustainable (57.15). The development of the Rap-Cattle analysis, according to dimensions, is included in the reasonably sustainable category. The results of the Leverage analysis obtained 23 attributes that influence the sustainability of the beef cattle business out of 48 attributes analyzed. Attributes that affect the beef cattle business's sustainability are recommended as improvement efforts.
