Abstract

Intensive development of urban areas observed nowadays represents a challenge for the existing storm drainage and combined sewerage systems. Progressing impermeability of the catchment and construction of drainage systems in new areas results in temporary overloads in the existing drainage systems and facilities cooperating with them. These unfavorable phenomena require undertaking highly capital-intensive modernization projects. In this paper, based on the case study of the town of Przemys´l, we present results of hydrodynamic simulation performed for reconstructed combined sewage network cooperating with a system of storage reservoirs and the sewage pumping station. In the framework of the study, an analysis was carried out concerning effect of selected variants of control algorithms for these facilities on the profile of certain hydraulic parameters in the drainage system.
