Abstract
The application of in-wheel motor makes the unspring mass increase sharply. During the high-speed driving of the vehicle, a large gyroscopic torque will be generated when excited by steering, ground unevenness, etc. In this paper, the classical mechanics theory is used to introduce the electric wheel gyro effect into the suspension dynamic model. Firstly, the mechanism of gyroscopic effect, and the magnitude of its force on the suspension dynamic are analyzed theoretically. Then, it is verified by multi-body dynamic software. The results show that the introduce of gyro effect can reduce the force on the suspension system, but the force on the steering linkage increases and causes wheel shimmy.
