Abstract

As a well-recognized scholar in translation study, Susan Bassnett is known for her proposal of cultural translation which claims a turn from linguistically textual analysis to more sociologically cultural study in translation discipline. Susan Bassnett’s philosophy in translation studies, however, is far beyond the proposal of cultural turn. Based on a corpus analysis on the text of Translation Studies, one of Susan’s popular scholarly books, this study is expected to identify more data proofs of Susan’s contributions, especially those ideas of translation history, translating process and translators’ subjectivity, which will bring significant inspirations for those in translation explorations.
