Abstract

There appears to be a popular impression among pediatricians and obstetricians that the pregnancy in which initial sensitization against the Rh (D) factor occurs is a "low risk pregnancy." This terminology was employed by Dr. Boggs in his recent interesting article entitled "Survival Rates in Rh Sensitizations" (Pediatrics 33:758). I admire and am envious of his remarkably good results. However, we observed 3 stillbirths in first immunized pregnancies in the year 1962 which would not have been prevented by his classification and plan of management which includes induction at 38 weeks in the "low risk" group.
