Abstract
A hemolytic bacterium, Moraxella bovis (Hauduroy), the causative organism of infectious bovine keratoconjunctivitis, was fed in Trypticase-soy broth to 4 to 6-day-old female Musca autumnalis DeGeer. M. bovis was recovered from alimentary tracts of the flies up to 48 h, but not 72 h, after ingestion of the bacterial suspension. More bacterial isolates were obtained from crops than from midguts, and no M. bovis was found in either the hindgut or hemolymph.
