Abstract
AbstractThis article gives a brief account of the surveys required for the design and planning of a Mass Transit underground railway system in Hong Kong. It describes the control surveys needed for both the setting-out of the tunnels and the control of private development which might frustrate the construction of the routes. It also mentions the preparation of special cadastral plans for buildings affected by the alignment of the railway and the strip plans provided for the engineers designing the system.
