Abstract

Sustainable manufacturing is an integrated approach, which can help enhance the economic, environmental and social aspects of various machining processes. The focus of this research work is on turning process wherein it tends to identify the critical parameters, which affects the different sustainability aspects of the concerned machining process. Structural equation modelling (SEM) has been utilised to test three hypotheses based on the responses of researchers and industry professionals collected through survey along with identifying sub-critical parameters of main indicators within each sustainability dimension. The hypothesis results of various cutting parameters in different dimensions are expected to provide the difference in perspectives for turning process based on the opinions of researchers and industry professionals. The significant indicators of each observed variables in case of researchers and industry professionals have also been highlighted in the study.
