Abstract

Objective Present survey was to obtain the data about bacterial species in conjunctival sac in Yi nationality population and Han nationality population aged 40 years or older. Methods This survey study was performed as the standardized training and protocol.A total of 272 eyes of 136 individuals from Yi nationality and 346 eyes of 173 subjects from Han nationality in Ganzi Autonomous Prefecture received questionnaire survey and ophthalmological examination. The secretion of the inferior palpebral conjunctival sac was embrocated and inoculated on blood plate for 48-72 hours. The bacteria was separated and identified. Results The positive rate of the bacteria cultivation of Yi nationality(69.9%) was statistically higher than that of Han people (60.4.%) (x2 =5.942 P =0.015).There was statistical difference in the multiple bacterial species between the two groups (x2 =10.694 P =0.001),and in the positive rate of corynbaccterium between the two groups(x2 =15.296 P =0.000).There was no difference in the positive rate of staphylococcus epidemics in the two nationality(x2 =0.924 P =0.336).Conclusion The positive rate of the bacteria cultivation of Yi nationality was statistically higher than that of Han people. The simple bacterial species was found in majority people in the two groups. The positive rate of multiple bacterial strains coexistence was more in Han nationality. The predominant bacterias were staphylococcus epidemics and corynbaccterium in Yi nationality and Han nationality, but the positive rate of corynbaccterium in Yi nationality was higher than that in Han nationality.
