Abstract
The outbreak of COVID-19 has caused a cataclysmic impact on the world. The highly infectious virus is known to spread rapidly where the person exposed does not exhibit the symptoms initially. The respondent governments are using contact tracing apps to help in the automation of the process to trace the recent contacts of the infected person. This is a survey to review and examine various smartphone contact tracing App architectures and Technologies used to connect the smartphones. So as to compare them to find the best solution to the problem. We have analyzed a few research papers and their results are compared. We have seen that many studies found that contact tracing could stop an outbreak by reducing the reproduction rate and thus reducing the total number of infections.
