Abstract

The purpose of the work is to improve the public transport system of the city of Sochi, Russia. The following methods were used: statistical surveys of passenger transportation by regular passenger transport routes, full-scale survey of passenger flows in the rolling stock of public transport, visual assessment of public transport services, questionnaire survey of passenger correspondence, observation, accounting and analysis of traffic intensity and passenger flows, reporting and statistical analysis of the information received when processing an array of correspondence. The theoretical and methodological basis was the works of Russian scientists and practitioners in the field of planning and organization of urban transport. The information base was made up of cartographic and design materials, as well as the results of surveys of the current state of the public transport system in the city of Sochi. Regulatory documents and guidelines for accounting for passenger and traffic flows were used as an organizational and methodological basis.
