Abstract

This research is motivated by the spread of COVID-19 which extends to various countries around the world, so the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the outbreak of the spread of the Covid-19 virus as the current world pandemic. Therefore, the Government of Indonesia makes a policy to conduct online learning activities. The purpose of this study is to find out the picture of children's physical activity during the New Normal period in Junior High School in Semarang East Semarang District of Semarang City. The method used in this study is a quantitative descriptive method. The method used in this study is surveying. The data collection technique in this study uses physical activity instruments in the form of questioner sheets. The data analysis techniques in this study used percentage descriptive data analysis techniques. The results showed that during the new normal students more often do physical activity, namely walking, cycling and jogging. In addition, the research data also showed that students do more exercise in the afternoon with a frequency of 2-3 times a week. Body performance when exercising in the afternoon shows better results than exercising in the morning, it is because a person still needs time to adapt after waking up in the morning (Heisman, 2013).
