Abstract

Objective To investigate the intervention measures of large cystic lymphatic malformation and the curative effect of surgical treatment. Methods The clinical data of 20 cases of large cystic lymphatic malformation in Henan Provincial People’s Hospital from December 2015 to December 2016 were retrospectively analyzed. The clinical manifestations, ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging and other clinical data, and surgery complications were analyzed. The clinical efficacy of surgical treatment were evaluated. Results Among the 20 patients, lesions were completely resected in 19 cases, and 1 case was with partially residual lesion. Postoperative pathological findings suggested lymphangioma or vascular-lymphoma. The incisions healed well without obvious complications. Three cases were satisfied with the wound healing, 16 cases were basically satisfied, and obvious scar nodules appeared in 1 case for scar constitution. In the follow-up period, no obvious recurrence was found in the 20 cases. Conclusions Surgical treatment of large cystic lymphatic malformation can achieve better therapeutic effect. This method can be used as a primary treatment option, especially in the case of sudden increase or intracapsular hemorrhage. Key words: Macrocystic; Lymphatic malformation; Lymphangioma; Surgery
