Abstract

Surgical reconstruction of the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) is indicated in PCL-deficient knees with severe symptomatic instability and associated ligament injuries. Traditional transtibial tunnel methods using various fixation techniques for different grafts were commonly used; however, long-term results remained unpredictable. This work presented an implant-free PCL reconstruction technique using femoral press-fit technique and periosteum-enveloping hamstring tendon in the tibial tunnel.
