Abstract

Numerous recent reports have pointed out the good results usually obtained by resection of the chronic pulmonary lesions of histoplasmosis. A fairly long-term follow-up study of culturally proved cases seemed desirable at this time in order to ascertain the benefits of the treatment and to exclude the possibility of late recurrences. The follow-up period in this series ranged from 8 months to 10 years and 4 months. All eight patients from whom current information could be obtained were in good health and free of evidence of recurrence. The remaining patient was doing well when last seen at the clinic 8 months after operation.
