Abstract

Objectives: Surgery is the treatment of choice for critical aortic coarctation and should be performed as early as feasible. However, catheterized stent implantation with consecutive surgical repair is a reasonable approach in premature and low birthweight newborns or critically ill patients with a high (peri-) operative risk.
