Abstract
Milia can be treated by destruction or evacuation. Destructive techniques, including electrocautery and low current electrodesiccation, effectively remove milia with minimal scarring or postinflammatory pigmentary change.1-3 Techniques involving evacuation of the cyst contents are more commonly done for isolated lesions. Evacuation is accomplished by first nicking the papule with a needle, scalpel blade, or stylet, followed by application of tangential pressure to the milium with a comedo extractor, the flat surface of a scalpel blade, a tongue blade, or a curet.
