Abstract

The resection of giant bullous disease, under the conditions described, provides an opportunity for the surgeon to restore pulmonary reserve and exercise tolerance and to rehabilitate well selected patients. Surgical intervention is at best palliative but presently provides the greatest degree of rehabilitation.
