Abstract
This is a short handbook of surgical gynecology. It is introduced by a brief, nicely organized discussion of the details involved in preoperative and postoperative handling, which was prepared by Dr. Harold M. Loeff. This is a useful and attractive presentation of a group of related fundamental problems, and it is a better one than is to be found in more pretentious texts. The main body of the book is made up of carefully produced line drawings of the essential features of ordinary gynecologic surgical procedures. These are accompanied by a very brief description, usually on an opposite page. It is not certain that these descriptions and illustrations are sufficient for any other than the undergraduate student, although the author has designed the book "for young gynecologists, general surgeons and those physicians in general practice who also perform operations."
