Abstract

Objective To investigate the diagnosis and surgical treatment of chest wall tuberculosis in clinical application.Methods From September 2009 to November 2011,56 patients with chest wall tuberculais underwent surgical treatment were chose,chest film and CT examination was used to determine abscess range,rib damage and sinus direction of travel.Preoperative regular anti-TB treatment for more than 2-4 weeks,according to the surgery condition,the abscess and lesions were cleared thoroughly,postoperative drainage was placed and reasonable bandaged was given.Results Incision stage Ⅰ healing in 48 cases,stage Ⅱ,Ⅲ healing in 8 cases.Recurrence in 4 cases,the original incision site recurrence in 3 cases,non-incision site recurrence in 1 case.Intraoperative complication was pneumothorax,occured in 2 cases,and cured by thoracentesis pumping.Conclusions As far as possible to confirm the diagnosis by non-invasive examination,the regular preoperative and postoperative anti-TB treatment is premise to prevent postoperative recurrence.Therough clearance of the abcess and lesions,postoperative drainage and reasonable pressure bandaging is the key to the success of surgical treatment of chest wall tuberculosis.
