Abstract

Case: We present the case of a 25-year-old man, who sustained a ground level fall and presented with a left shoulder inferior labral tear with paralabral cyst and associated axillary nerve compression. He had electromyogram evidence of axillary and suprascapular nerve compression. Surgical decompression of the cyst, repair of the labrum, and suprascapular notch decompression relieved his previously progressive symptoms. Conclusion: This case demonstrates that individuals who have a paralabral cyst with acute, severe axillary neuropathy and suprascapular neuropathy can benefit from decompression of the paralabral cyst, repair of the labrum, and decompression of the suprascapular notch.
