Abstract
Bilateral lateral rectus recession (BLR-recess) is a common surgical procedure for exotropia but often is insufficient for treatment of congenital exotropia, particularly among children with neurological impairment. We sought to determine factors predictive of surgical failure of BLR-recess in congenital exotropia and describe an alternative surgical approach.
