Abstract
The permanent maxillary left central incisor in a 10-year-old boy did not erupt because of the presence of an unerupted supernumerary tooth. A supernumerary tooth prevented the eruption of the permanent maxillary left central incisor. Periodic routine radiographic examinations had not been made, and diagnostic problems were complicated by the progressive calcification within the pulp chamber of the supernumerary tooth. Positioning of the permanent incisor required a year of treatment.
