Abstract
This new textbook of facial anatomy is written specifically to guide the surgeon. The authors employ numerous color and black and white photographs and interesting color drawings to highlight the points that are made in the text. The text is well written and represents only those anatomic points that are of interest to the authors, both of whom are head and neck surgeons. The drawings were rendered by the second author, Dr Makielski. The illustration captions are concise and informative, often obviating the need to consult the text further. The authors have dealt with the problem of describing anatomic systems, which may span several separate facial anatomic regions, by dividing the book into three major sections: Facial Analysis, Anatomic Systems, and Anatomic Regions. The section on facial contour analysis is a study of the typical facial proportions. This method is of particular value in planning aesthetic surgical procedures. There are
