Abstract

Objective To investigate the surgical correction method for the treatment of severe eyeball rupture with orbital zygomatic complex fracture. Methods The data of 39 eyes with severe eyeball rupture injury without reservation value combined with orbital zygomatic complex fracture during March 2011 to October 2014 were retrospectively analyzed. Results The degree of mouth openning after postoperative function training was more than 30 mm in 39 patients(100.00%). The facial appearance was bilateral symmetry without orbital collapse or downward displacement in 36 patients(92.31%) . The enophthalmos was less than 2 mm in 37 patients after wearing ocular prosthesis. The permanent facial nerve damage did not appear. Conclusion Surgical treatment is effective for severe eyeball rupture injury without reservation value with orbital zygomatic complex fracture which can restore the appearance and improve the facial deformity and restriction of mouth openning.
