Abstract

Bundle-like nanostructures have been synthesized via a hydrothermal treatment with the assistance of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB). The as-synthesized bundle-like nanostructures are composed of well-aligned tellurium (Te) nanorods with lengths of 500 nm and diameters ranging from 30 to 50 nm. The formation mechanism of the Te nanostructures has been investigated and discussed. The concentration of CTAB and hydrothermal treatment temperature played crucial roles, and could be used as the parameters to control morphology of the bundle-like nanostructures. Moreover, the photoluminescence properties of the bundle-like Te nanostructures have also been studied.
