Abstract

The article is about the propagation of surface waves through electrically conducting medium. The piezoelectric medium is an n-type semiconductor. The finite deformation caused in the medium results in generation of elastic disturbance that propagate through the medium in the form of surface waves. According to the theory of thermoelasticity, temperature also propagate in the medium in the form of thermal waves. The heat propagation through the medium is encountered by classical heat conduction model derived from Fourier’s law of heat conduction. The analytical solution for system of governing equations is obtained by using Normal mode analysis method along with Eigen value approach. Secular equation containing the information of surface waves is obtained for some specific boundary conditions at the surface . Furthermore, the theoretical results obtained are represented graphically for a particular medium.
