Abstract

The dispersion characteristics of surface waves above a perfectly conducting trapezoidal corrugated surface are analyzed as functions of the shape and period of corrugation. The analysis is based on the impedance approximation and numerical simulation with the use of the finite-element method. For two extreme particular cases, rectangular and triangular shapes of corrugation, the values of the calculated slowing factor are compared with the results obtained from analytic formulas and from a numerical experiment.
