Abstract

ABSTRACT In order to improve water quality, a series of measurements were carried out, mainly wastewater and point source control. The main objective was to determine how water quality parameters are affected by wastewater and Olive Vegetation Waters (OVWs) under the effects of seasonal variation and water flow. Measurements include: temperature, pH, EC, turbidity, DO, BOD5, COD, NTK, ammonium, nitrate, TP, orthophosphate, TSS and phenol index. We show a significant decrease in DO levels of 4.8 mg O2/L. Thus, suggestions were made for improving the water quality of Oued Ouerrha and its tributary, Oued Sra, and providing references for the management of urban rivers in Northern Morocco.
