Abstract

Multicomponent molybdate catalysts are active and selective contacts for the ammoxidation of propene. They exhibit a finely grained consistency. Mössbauer surface (CEMS) and transmission spectra show equivalent patterns. Consequently, the catalytically active material taking part in the reaction is not localized on the surface, but the whole of the grains is involved in the catalytic process.
