Abstract

The conditions are found under which quadratic magneto-optic interaction causes the formation of virtual surface magnetic TM and TE polaritons propagating along the interface between an antiferromagnet (AFM) and an ideal metal or between an AFM and an insulator in an external static electric field directed along the easy axis of the AFM. The specific features of the reflection of a bulk electromagnetic wave incident from vacuum onto the AFM surface are studied under these conditions.
