Abstract

This paper addresses an improved algorithm of shape from shading with a single real image, and its application on three-dimensional surface reconstruction. The improved algorithm consists of smoothing constraint, boundary height constraint, and weighted light error. For consideration of actual visual sensing systems, the feasibility of the algorithm is verified with a single synthetic image. Finally, the surface shape of weld pool during pulsed GTAW is reconstructed successfully from its real single image.
