Abstract

Electron transport in metallic films with little bulk scattering strongly depends on film roughness. The quantum theory of transport in this surface-scattering-limited regime has been investigated during the past decade using different approaches, but without considering the effect of magnetic field. We develop in this paper a theory of magnetotransport in this regime and compare the predictions with the rich experimental behavior reported for various systems.
