Abstract
The surface reaction of Sn with aqueous solutions of thiourea has been studied. The kinetics of the growing film are determined by temperature, concentration and atmospheric conditions. Mechanisms for material transport and for the splitting of the thiourea molecules have been proposed, and the activation energies evaluated as 47kcal/mole in the absence of air and 16kcal/mole in its presence.
