Abstract

Abstract This paper discusses the results from an investigation of the wind loads and wake flow regimes associated with one particular type of agricultural building, namely semicylindrical film plastic-clad greenhouses. Wind tunnel measurements of mean surface pressure distributions on models in three turbulent boundary layers were carried out to study the influence of the approach flow parameters on the loading of the buildings. The data obtained from near wake measurements provided information concerning the influence on the recirculation region of both model aspect ratio and approach flow conditions.
