Abstract
Positions of two surface plasma resonances in a layer metal particle containing a dielectric foreign nucleus are calculated within the random phase approximation. The results obtained give a possible explanation of a recent experimental observation by Genzel et al. 1 of two peak structure in the photoabsorption cross-section of small silver particles.
